The Twilight Zone (1959-1964) The Twilight zone is a drama/horror series. The opening of the twilight zone is incredible gripping due to its strangeness which immediately grasps the viewer's attention. The show itself  follows people in immensely strange and dramatic situations who need to figure out how to get out of them, usually with ironic and sometimes horrifying endings. Although most drama films are expected to follow situations of some level of seriousness or realism, there are many different sub-topics included in dramatic films, such as romance, horror, and mystery. The Breakfast Club Opening . The first minute and a half of the breakfast club opening is a black screen with credits of the actors, producers, and editors, followed by a black screen quote from David Bowie. Although the visuals of the opening are bland, the audience is not bored. The music playing during the music is the theme song "Don't You Forget About Me", which is really upbeat and keeps our attention. The last few seconds of the opening's two minute cut off is a frame change with the black screen being broken like glass to reveal the high school, with  voice over announcing the current date and time the film is taking place.

Dear Elena,     About a year ago when I left for the army, I was so upset to have to leave my best friend behind. I couldn't stop thinking about you and all of our memories together.  One day in combat we were unexpectedly attacked and I got hurt causing severe injuries to my head and brain causing our memories to slowly fade away. I still have enough memories of you to remember how much you mean to me but I know they will soon be gone. I just want you to know I'm sorry. Help me remember.  Love,   Ryder

First Impressions We are producing the opening to a film, in which the most important thing is to grasp the attention of the viewer and keep them hooked to want to watch the rest of the film. Usually, the film opening is also apart of the credit sequence, where the names of the actors, producers, and directors are appearing usually on the perimeters of the screen. The Titanic (1997) is a dramatic film with many romantic elements. The opening scene of the Titanic is 1:22 minutes long and displays credits citing Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, Lightstorm Entertainment, following the reveal of the title of the film behind the background of dark, deep waters. The beginning of the opening shows real footage of the ship in yellow filer footage. The opening of the film hooks its audience by making them ask themselves the questions "What comes next?", or "What happened to the ship that there are people searching the ocean floor?" Having a gripping opening l...

Project Decision-Film

I have chosen to complete the film project. I chose this because it is best fit for me and my abilities, as well as best for my group. It will best showcase my skills of marketing for film, directing, script writing, and film editing. Our genre is drama and our target audience is Genre Target Audience I will be working in a group of two with a student from another class period of AICE Media Studies. My partner, Sydney Mucci, is a photographer and has skills in editing and film technique. She is going to be managing the camera aspects of film making while I utilize my skills to take control over the directing, dialogue, and mice en scene. We are both going to oversee the editing process. -laptop cam idea horror

Project Selection- Magazine

Some aspects of print journalism that interest me is design and writing. I have always had an interest in journalism and excelled in writing throughout school. From watching All the President's Men and The Newsroom in AICE Media Studies, I have learned about the effects of news and print journalism on society and how much of an impact it can have, which I find very intriguing. Some skills I possess that would make the project a good fit for me include my eye for creativity. It would be fun to design a magazine layout and play around with colors and positioning.

Project Selection- Film

I feel doing this project in film form would be best fitting for me due to my experience. Some aspects of film that interest me are script-making, directing, editing, music, and marketing. I have taken directing and put on three shows being the main or assistant director. I have created short-length films and also taken a film, theater and cinema appreciation class through FLVS, which taught be many aspects of film with camera and angles. I've also been taught on the elements and necessities of marketing. I've had to create a marketing plan for a show I had planned to direct and had a professional marketer coach my class on the topic. Last year, I helped my friends who took this class in their film project and was an actor in theirs, getting an inside look at how the project should go. What I've learned in class has also further interested be in film production from learning about the use of camera technique and angles as well as watching the Newsroom and other movies to a...
